Plagiarism Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Social Issues (IJOSIM) is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and originality. All manuscripts submitted to IJOSIM are subject to a plagiarism and similarity screening process before proceeding to the peer review stage.

The editorial team uses appropriate plagiarism-detection and similarity-checking software to identify potential plagiarism, substantial textual overlap, duplicate publication, and other forms of inappropriate reuse of previously published material.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all ideas, quotations, data, theories, and materials derived from other sources are properly acknowledged and cited.

Plagiarism Screening Procedure

  1. Initial Screening
Every submitted manuscript is checked for similarity before being sent to reviewers.

  2. Similarity Assessment
The editorial team evaluates the similarity report to determine whether detected similarities represent legitimate citations, commonly used terminology, or inappropriate duplication.

  3. Revision or Rejection
If substantial or inappropriate similarities are identified, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification and revision. Manuscripts containing serious plagiarism or unacceptable duplication may be rejected without proceeding to peer review.

  4. Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for the originality and integrity of their submitted manuscripts and must properly cite all sources used.

  5. Post-Publication Action
If plagiarism or serious academic misconduct is discovered after publication, IJOSIM may take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policies, including correction, retraction, or other necessary measures.

IJOSIM considers plagiarism, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct to be serious violations of publication ethics. The journal therefore encourages all authors to carefully review their manuscripts and ensure proper citation and attribution before submission.
