Author Guidelines

Journal of Informatics Engineering and Research (JOIEAR)

1. General Requirements

Journal of Informatics Engineering and Research (JOIEAR) accepts original research articles, review articles, and other scholarly manuscripts relevant to informatics engineering, computer science, information technology, and related fields within the journal's scope.

Authors are required to ensure that submitted manuscripts:

  • Present original and scientifically significant research.

  • Are relevant to the focus and scope of JOIEAR.

  • Have not been previously published and are not under consideration by another journal.

  • Are written clearly, accurately, and consistently in academic language.

  • Follow the journal's formatting and submission requirements.

  • Properly acknowledge and cite all sources, data, software, algorithms, datasets, images, and other materials obtained from other sources.

  • Obtain appropriate permission for copyrighted materials when necessary.

2. Types of Manuscripts

JOIEAR primarily considers the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles – reports of original theoretical, experimental, computational, or applied research.

  2. Review Articles – systematic, critical, or comprehensive reviews of significant developments in informatics engineering and information technology.

  3. Technical and Applied Studies – research describing the development, implementation, evaluation, or application of computing and information technology solutions.

3. Manuscript Structure

Research articles should generally contain the following sections:

  1. Title

  2. Author Names and Affiliations

  3. Abstract

  4. Keywords

  5. Introduction

  6. Literature Review / Related Work

  7. Research Methodology

  8. Results and Discussion

  9. Conclusion

  10. Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  11. Conflict of Interest Statement (if applicable)

  12. References

The structure may be adjusted according to the nature of the manuscript and research methodology.

4. Title

The title should:

  • Clearly describe the main topic or research problem.

  • Be concise, informative, and specific.

  • Avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

  • Reflect the primary contribution of the research.

  • Use appropriate academic terminology.

5. Author Information

All authors who have made substantial contributions to the research should be listed.

The manuscript should include:

  • Full name of each author.

  • Institutional affiliation.

  • Department or study program, where applicable.

  • City and country.

  • Corresponding author's email address.

Authorship should accurately reflect the actual contributions of each author.

6. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise overview of the research and should generally include:

  • Background or research problem.

  • Research objective.

  • Methodology or computational approach.

  • Main results and findings.

  • Conclusion and principal contribution.

The abstract should be informative and understandable without requiring readers to consult the main text.

7. Keywords

Authors should provide 3–6 keywords that represent the main concepts, methods, technologies, or applications discussed in the manuscript.

Keywords should be specific and relevant to informatics engineering and information technology.

8. Introduction

The introduction should establish:

  • The research background and context.

  • The research problem or knowledge gap.

  • Relevant previous studies.

  • The significance of the research.

  • The research objectives.

  • The novelty or contribution of the study.

Authors should clearly explain how the research contributes to existing knowledge or solves a relevant technological problem.

9. Literature Review / Related Work

The literature review should critically discuss relevant and recent scholarly literature. Authors should:

  • Use credible academic sources.

  • Identify relevant theories, methods, algorithms, technologies, or previous studies.

  • Explain similarities and differences between previous research and the current study.

  • Identify research gaps that justify the study.

  • Clearly position the contribution of the research.

10. Research Methodology

The methodology must be presented clearly enough to allow other researchers to understand and, where appropriate, reproduce the research.

Depending on the study, this section may include:

  • Research design.

  • Dataset or data sources.

  • System architecture.

  • Algorithms and computational methods.

  • Software and hardware specifications.

  • Development methodology.

  • Experimental procedures.

  • Data collection procedures.

  • Data preprocessing.

  • Model development and training.

  • Testing and validation procedures.

  • Evaluation metrics.

  • Statistical or computational analysis.

For research involving artificial intelligence and machine learning, authors should provide sufficient information regarding datasets, preprocessing, model architecture, training procedures, parameters, validation methods, and evaluation metrics.

11. Results and Discussion

The results should be presented clearly and objectively. Tables, figures, graphs, screenshots, system architectures, flowcharts, or other appropriate visualizations may be used to support the findings.

The discussion should:

  • Interpret the results.

  • Relate findings to previous studies.

  • Explain the significance of the findings.

  • Discuss strengths and limitations where appropriate.

  • Explain the implications of the research.

  • Highlight the novelty and contribution of the proposed method, system, model, or application.

Results should not merely be repeated in the discussion; they should be interpreted analytically.

12. Conclusion

The conclusion should directly address the research objectives and summarize the principal findings and contributions.

Authors may also include recommendations for future research, particularly where further development, testing, implementation, or technological improvement is required.

13. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should:

  • Be numbered consecutively.

  • Have clear and descriptive titles or captions.

  • Be referred to appropriately in the manuscript.

  • Be sufficiently clear and readable.

  • Be relevant to the discussion.

  • Include appropriate sources or attribution when obtained or adapted from other works.

Authors should ensure that all visual materials comply with copyright and intellectual property requirements.

14. Equations, Algorithms, and Technical Content

Mathematical equations, algorithms, pseudocode, source-code excerpts, system models, and technical diagrams should be presented consistently and clearly.

Algorithms and computational procedures should provide sufficient information to understand the proposed approach and reproduce the principal results where feasible.

15. Software, Datasets, and Computational Resources

Authors are encouraged to provide information regarding:

  • Software and programming languages used.

  • Relevant libraries and frameworks.

  • Dataset sources.

  • Hardware or computing environments.

  • Experimental configurations.

  • Public repositories or supplementary resources, where applicable.

When third-party datasets, software, APIs, libraries, or other resources are used, appropriate attribution and licensing requirements must be respected.

16. References and Citation

Authors must properly cite all sources used in the manuscript.

References should:

  • Be relevant to the research.

  • Preferably include recent and high-quality scholarly publications.

  • Be cited consistently throughout the manuscript.

  • Include complete bibliographic information.

  • Follow the journal's prescribed reference style.

Authors are encouraged to use reference-management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or other compatible reference-management tools to maintain citation consistency.

17. Research Ethics and Data Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring the integrity and ethical conduct of their research.

Manuscripts must not contain fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or misleading data.

Where research involves human participants, personal data, sensitive information, or other ethically regulated activities, authors should comply with applicable ethical requirements and obtain appropriate approval or informed consent where necessary.

18. Plagiarism and Originality

All submitted manuscripts are expected to be original. Authors must not submit manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, substantial text recycling, fabricated data, or other forms of academic misconduct.

Manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or excessive similarity before or during the peer-review process. The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts that violate academic integrity standards.

19. Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI

Authors may use artificial intelligence or generative AI tools as supportive tools in research and manuscript preparation where appropriate. However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted manuscript.

AI tools must not be listed as authors. Where the use of AI tools materially contributes to manuscript preparation or research, authors should disclose such use in accordance with applicable journal and publication-ethics standards.

20. Conflict of Interest

Authors should disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could potentially influence the research or its interpretation.

If no conflict of interest exists, authors should state this explicitly.

21. Funding Statement

Authors should disclose all sources of financial or institutional support received for the research, if applicable.

If the research received no specific funding, an appropriate statement may be included.

22. Submission and Peer Review

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official online submission system of Journal of Informatics Engineering and Research (JOIEAR).

All manuscripts are subject to editorial screening and peer review. The editorial team evaluates manuscripts based on relevance to the journal's scope, originality, methodological quality, scientific contribution, clarity, and overall academic quality.

23. Revision

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts following editorial or reviewer comments.

When submitting a revised manuscript, authors should:

  • Address all reviewer comments carefully.

  • Clearly indicate changes made to the manuscript.

  • Provide a response to reviewer comments when requested.

  • Ensure that the revised manuscript remains consistent and complete.

24. Final Responsibility

The authors are responsible for the accuracy of all information, data, analyses, interpretations, citations, and statements presented in their manuscripts.

Submission of a manuscript to Journal of Informatics Engineering and Research (JOIEAR) indicates that the authors agree to comply with the journal's editorial policies, publication ethics, peer-review procedures, and copyright provisions.

25. Checklist Before Submission

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript fits the scope of JOIEAR.

  • The research is original and has not been published elsewhere.

  • All authors have approved the final manuscript.

  • The manuscript follows the journal's required structure and format.

  •  The abstract and keywords are provided.

  •  Tables and figures are properly numbered and referenced.

  •  All sources are appropriately cited.

  •  The reference list is complete and consistent.

  •  Plagiarism and academic-integrity requirements have been observed.

  •  Ethical approval or consent is provided where applicable.

  •  Conflicts of interest and funding information are disclosed where applicable.

  •  AI-assisted tools are disclosed where their use materially contributed to the work.

  •  The manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another journal.

Journal of Informatics Engineering and Research (JOIEAR) encourages authors to submit high-quality, original, ethical, and scientifically rigorous research that advances informatics engineering and contributes to the development of innovative digital and computational solutions.
