Focus and Scope

Indonesian Journal of Social Issues is a scientific journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and conceptual studies addressing contemporary social issues, particularly those related to social, economic, political, governmental, and educational dimensions of society. The journal provides an academic platform for examining social phenomena, societal problems, and community dynamics through interdisciplinary perspectives within the fields of economics, social and political sciences, government studies, and elementary education.

The scope of Indonesian Journal of Social Issues includes, but is not limited to:

1. Social Issues and Social Dynamics
   Social change, social relations, community dynamics, social institutions, social integration, social conflict, social participation, social vulnerability, and contemporary social problems.

2. Economics and Socioeconomic Issues
   Economic development, community economics, entrepreneurship, MSMEs, employment, poverty, economic inequality, household and community welfare, economic behavior, local economic development, and socioeconomic issues affecting society.

3. Social and Political Issues
   Political participation, democracy, social movements, citizenship, political behavior, social and political change, community participation, conflict and integration, and the relationship between social and political processes in society.

4. Government and Public Policy
   Governance, public administration, public policy, public services, government institutions, government-community relations, policy implementation, community participation in governance, and government responses to social and economic issues.

5. Elementary Education and Social Issues in Education
   Elementary education, teaching and learning in primary schools, student development, literacy, character education, inclusive education, educational equity and access, teacher development, educational innovation, and the role of elementary education in addressing social issues.

6. Community Development and Empowerment
   Community development, social and economic empowerment, poverty alleviation, community capacity building, local development, social inclusion, community resilience, and strategies for improving community welfare.

7. Social Welfare and Inequality
   Social and economic inequality, poverty, social protection, access to education and public services, vulnerable groups, quality of life, and factors influencing individual and community welfare.

8. Contemporary Social Issues and Community Transformation
   Digital transformation, changes in social behavior and interaction, technological impacts on communities, cultural and social transformation, sustainable community development, and emerging social issues related to economic, political, governmental, and educational change.

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies that integrate perspectives from economics, social and political sciences, government studies, and elementary education, provided that the research has a clear and substantive connection to social issues, societal problems, community conditions, or social development.

Manuscripts that focus exclusively on technical or specialized aspects of a discipline without a clear relationship to social issues or societal contexts are outside the scope of the journal. Through this focused interdisciplinary approach, Indonesian Journal of Social Issues aims to contribute to the development of scientific knowledge and understanding of social dynamics and provide relevant implications for society, policy, education, economic development, and community welfare.
